How we research
Launch content is research-based buying advice. Unless a page explicitly documents a physical test we performed, assume we have not personally used the product.
Evidence types we label
- Manufacturer specs — dimensions, capacities, warranties from brand pages.
- Manufacturer marketing — claims that need extra caution.
- Independent review — labs or publications we cite with URLs.
- Editorial analysis — our constraint matching and tradeoff framing.
- Uncertain — conflicts or missing data, marked as evidence gaps.
What we never invent
- Hands-on testing narratives (“we tested”, “after months of use”)
- Star ratings, fake lab numbers, or fabricated quotes
- Author portraits or invented credentials
- Prices, discounts, or live Amazon ratings scraped into articles
AI assistance
AI tools may help structure research and draft prose. Every published guide lists sources with retrieval dates. AI does not replace source checking. Illustrations generated or drawn for the site are labeled as illustrations — not product photos.
Updates
The “Updated” date on a guide reflects an actual review or substantive edit of that page’s claims — not a cosmetic refresh.
